Figure 208 shows streets capable, from the point of view of their width and layout, of acting as local distributors. These are Great Portland Street, the Howland Street-Cavendish Street route, the Goodge Street-Mortimer Street route, with Charlotte Street and Berners Street possibly playing a part. It was also evident that it would be difficult to avoid the retention of Oxford Street and the Portland Place-Regent Street route as internal distributors for the West End as a whole.
