A study of the way the area is used at present (Figure 165) shows that there are six potential environmental areas:

1. The Oxford Street shopping area
2. The clothing trade area immediately north of Oxford Street
3. The Hospital
4. The Charlotte Street-Percy Street restaurant area
5. Fitzroy Square and surrounding streets
6. The Great Portland Street-Titchfield Street area of mixed business and residential uses, with a busy local shopping centre and market.
